The Project for Capacity Building on Climate Resilience in the Pacific (CBCRP-PCCC)

Summary 

The Project for Capacity Building on Climate Resilience in the Pacific at the Pacific Climate Change Centre (CBCRP-PCCC) is jointly implemented by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), the Government of Samoa and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It aims to operationalize the training function of the PCCC by enhancing its capacities in the areas of climate change adaptation, access to finance and mitigation in the Pacific region.

Training schedule

The CBCRP-PCCC will deliver 12 training programs to all SPREP member countries and territories in the Pacific and Timor-Leste.

2019

November: 1st training “Hazard and Risk Assessment for Coastal Area Management by Using Remote Sensing Technology”

2020

September: 2nd training “Climate Science – observed climate change and future climate projections”

November: 3rd training “Access to Climate Finance (Part 1): Essential aspects for access to climate finance”

November-December: 4th training “Access to Climate Finance (Part 2): Gender, social inclusion and safeguards”

2021

March: 5th training “Disaster Risk Reduction through Structural Approaches”

June-July: 6th training “Ecosystem-based Adaptation and Mitigation”

September-October: 7th training on “Climate Resilience and Food Production Systems – agriculture and coastal fisheries”

2022

January - February: 8th Training on "Enhancing Climate Resilience in Tourism in the Pacific"

May: 9th Training on Water

July - August: 10th and 11th Trainings on Access to Climate Finance (Part 3&4)

August - October: 12th Training on Health
