The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) and the Faroese Geological Survey (Jarðfeingi) proudly present the inaugural Islands Water Congress, a groundbreaking event dedicated to addressing the unique water challenges of island communities. We invite you to the stunning Faroe Islands from September 4th to 6th, 2024, in Tórshavn. This high-level global event will convene experts, policymakers, researchers, industry professionals, and stakeholders from islands worldwide across Europe, the Caribbean, Asia, North America, Africa, Oceania, and South & Central America.

The Islands Water Congress marks a significant milestone in addressing pressing water challenges faced by island communities globally. The Congress aims to foster discussions and collaborations on administration, collaboration, and innovation in freshwater management on islands.

This biennial Islands Water Congress promises to be a cornerstone event in advancing sustainable water use and management, with far-reaching implications for island communities and beyond. Attendees will find ample opportunities to connect, share knowledge, and catalyse action toward water resilience in island contexts. The three-day programme will consist of diverse array of paper presentations from experts, special sessions from renowned institutions, creative cultural presentations, and esteemed keynote speakers.

Keynote speakers include Dr Milika Naqasima Sobey, James Ellsmoor, Dr Kamanamaikalani Beamer, Manuel Sapiano, Hogni Hoydal, Dr Ronald Roopnarine, and Dr Miguel Angelo Barreto da Moura.
