This report features information about stakeholders participation in the preparatory process and the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) which was held in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, from 27 - 30 May 2024.
The 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) was held in Antigua and Barbuda from 27 - 30 May 2024, under the theme “Charting the course toward resilient prosperity”. It aimed to assess the ability of small island developing States (SIDS) to achieve sustainable development, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals.
The SIDS4 Conference brought together world leaders who agreed on a new programme of action for SIDS “The Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for Small Island Developing States: A renewed Declaration for Resilient Prosperity” (ABAS). ABAS not only sets out SIDS ambitions, it also shows the global community how to support SIDS to achieve resilient prosperity, including practical and impactful solutions and new partnerships and cooperation at all levels.
