Representatives from Vanuatu government ministries, CROP agencies and development partners in the Pacific region participated in a User Acceptance Testing workshop in Port Vila on 13 September. The Pacific iClim project implemented by Griffith University, Australia, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), is engaging in a greater effort to capture user feedback to further improve knowledge management services and decision support tools, and this workshop was the second instalment in a series of workshops across Fiji, Vanuatu and Tonga – countries that run their own national climate change portals within a regional knowledge management architecture focused on easier access to climate change information in the Pacific.
The Port Vila session provided ample opportunity for participants to explore and share immediate feedback on the Pacific Climate Change Portal (PCCP – www.pacificclimatechange.net) as well as two decision support tools currently in beta phase that will be hosted on the PCCP: the Adaptation Planning Tool (APT) and the Climate Finance Navigator (CFN).
