Government agencies, NGOs and stakeholder representatives gathered at Nadi's Novotel Hotel last Thursday to discuss the UNDP's Pacific risk resilience program (PRRP).
The program, aimed at preparing countries for natural disasters and climate change, is being implemented in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu, and funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
In opening the workshop, Commissioner Western Manasa Tagicakibau highlighted the importance of the program, especially for the Western Division which was now considered as the division that was at the highest risk of being hit by natural disasters.
