Kiribati leader takes push for climate change action to Australia

The president of Kiribati on Thursday said he was disappointed by the Australian government's decision to approve a giant coal mine, as he urged the major exporter of the commodity to take action on climate change ahead of a key summit in Paris.

Impoverished, low-lying Pacific islands such as Kiribati, Vanuatu and Tuvalu are among the most vulnerable countries in the world to climate change and a creeping rise in sea levels.
