STARTING from humble beginnings, American Walt Smith has established fine, sustainable fishery companies in the South Pacific.
Arriving in Tonga from Los Angeles in 1989, to run an export station, he was encouraged by the Fiji Fisheries Department to move his business here in 1995. He quickly made the decision with his wife and two daughters and recently became a Fiji citizen.
