Villagers learn about climate change mitigation

THE villagers of Votua in Ba had their first discussions with a team of marine experts from the University of Fiji as the institution begins a three-year climate change mitigation project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The villagers learned about the base maps for tropical aquatic resources in the Pacific program, which will map out two reefs near Votua. Turaga ni yavusa o Narai Ratu Valemo Tinalevu said the program should provide some evidence of the physical changes that had occurred in Natogovuto and Yarawa reefs, which were the two areas of study.
