[Bishopthorpe] The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu is to visit Samoa, Tonga and Fiji to lead a series of Leadership Reflections on Climate Change at the invitation of the Most Revd Dr Winston Halapua, the Archbishop of Polynesia from 27 July to 14 August 2015. Dr Sentamu will also give a public lecture at the Anglican Cathedral of the Diocese of Polynesia in Suva on Climate Change on 5 August 2015.
The Pacific island states are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. The Archbishop’s visit is timely ahead of the Paris summit in December 2015, where 196 countries are expected to meet to sign a new climate change agreement.
