Washington DC, U.S.A-October 13: 11.50am (PMO/TDN): Talks between Tonga’s Prime Minister, Lord Tu’ivakano and the World Bank Group’s Regional Vice President, Mr. Axel van Trotsenburg was held on Tuesday, October 7 in Washington DC, to acknowledge the WBG’s longstanding financial and technical support to the Kingdom.
With millions in budget support, the Government has worked with the Bank in re-programming and re-prioritizing Government operations, within the available fiscal envelop, which ushered in positive signs of improvement in Tonga’s economy.
