PACCSAP Workshop 2011 - Discussion Paper 2: Settlements and Infrastructure

A discussion paper outlining the Adaptation planning and decision making component of the Pacific Australia Climate Change Science and Adaptation Planning (PACCSAP) program.

Abstract: A changing climate will create new risks for managing infrastructure in the Pacific. Acknowledging the critical nature of infrastructure and related services for Pacific Island communities, this PACCSAP activity proposes to explore the potential for a regional overview of infrastructure risk and adaptation options and to work with selected countries to review their current infrastructure and planning frameworks in the context of future climate change impacts, and to identify what tools can support this process. The activity will build on existing activities and programs across the Pacific, and acknowledges that many countries have already developed infrastructure management plans.
