Today, November 11, COP 19 officially kicks off in Warsaw. The city is not quite warmed-up for this biggest annual event in climate change sphere. Few signs, banners, flags can be seen. All three days before the conference, it remained gusty and grey with drizzle most of the day. Interestingly, the sun comes out this morning, which hopefully may bode well for this presumably unfruitful conference.
Mr. Xie Zhenhua, who heads the Chinese delegation, has stepped his foot in the negotiation round already. Later this week, he may spare some time to attend a government-NGO dialogue.
