Republic of the Marshall Islands President Christopher J. Loeak is expected to depart early next month to attend the 13th Micronesian Presidents’ Summit (MPS) in Koror, Palau. The MPS, held from 10-11 July at the Ngarachamayong Cultural Center will also coincide with Palau’s Constitution Day.
The MPS is composed of the Presidents of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Republic of Palau, and the Federated States of Micronesia that meet annually to discuss matters of common interest to the three nations. The meeting is intended to communicate national, regional, and international issues of mutual importance, including the Micronesia Challenge, climate change, fisheries, compact impact, among others.
