His Excellency, President Anote Tong, President of the Republic of Kiribati, will be making his way to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa for the upcoming Waves of Change conference beginning April 4th, which will be addressing the environmental , social, cultural, political, economic and legal impacts of climate change in Oceania. President Tong will be presenting the opening keynote address in the Hawaiʻi Imin International Conference Center at 4:00 pm. Having President Tong on the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa campus, is significant for the college and climate change considering Tong’s political history.
