WATER, rivers and their important ecological, socio-cultural, cultural, economic and institutional connectedness to oceans, remain an integral part of the Asia-Pacific and international cultural landscapes of tradition.
Social and cultural perspectives of water and oceans exist within a ridge-to-reef (R2R) concept and capture many of the present problems which Asia-Pacific (including islands) peoples are facing every day particularly with more recent human induced climate change.
