The Regional Pacific Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Hub held its second Steering Committee meeting on November 20th, 2020 virtually through MS Teams. This meeting provided updates to the Steering Committee on the NDC Hub’s funding arrangements, recruitment, implementation of country activities as well as recent and upcoming events. A major outcome from this meeting was the finalization of the NDC Hub’s Governance Arrangement document which was updated based on feedback from a Focal Point meeting in February 2020. With unanimous approval from the steering committee, this document has now been finalized as one of the critical guiding documents for the NDC Hub until it is revised after 1 year.
The long-term strategy of the NDC Hub was also discussed during the meeting, detailing the timeline and next steps towards the strategy development, which is aimed to be completed by March 2021. This strategy intends to adopt and approach what the countries need and will be based on country demands.
Therefore, all Steering Committee and Focal Points were encouraged to provide their inputs to the strategy through a survey shared with them, which will help assist in articulating the thematic areas of the strategy and addressing specific country needs.
