On August 13, 2015, over eighty youth climate activists attended the first ever mock UNFCCC climate negotiations held in the Pacific Islands. Using the Climate Interactive World Climateprogram and C-ROADS software, the participants assembled in Port Vila, Vanuatu, were tasked with negotiating a legally binding global treaty on carbon emissions reductions.
Vanuatu youth from Malapoa College, Central School, Tebakor College, NamauRi Youth Group, University of the South Pacific and members of the advocacy network 350 Vanuatu assumed the roles of government delegations from six different country groupings.
