4 MARCH 2013
Today, (Saturday March 2) will be observed by people in 15 Pacific island countries as Pacific Day of Action on Climate Change. Maewo Islands in Penama Province will be the location of Vanuatu’s event for the day.
This year organizers are mobilizing people - young and old, ordinary citizens, leaders, and public figures to perform their war challenges, songs and dances at locations on islands that are prominent or affected by climate change. This is to show that Pacific Islands are united and are going to voice their concerns against climate change so the global community takes notice of us, organizers say.
