President Donald Trump's top economic adviser said at a United Nations meeting on Monday that the United States is standing by its plans to abandon the Paris climate pact unless there is a renegotiation morefavorable to Washington, a step for which the global community has little appetite. Multiple countries have also said that the underlying language of the deal won't change no matter what the White House does.
In June President Donald Trump said the United States would withdraw from the deal.
