A new ‘media morality’ is needed to address the issue of climate change, says Professor David Robie.
Speaking at the 12th Pacific Science Inter-Congress (PSIC) at the University of the South Pacific (USP), Professor Robie, a former head of the School of Journalism at USP, said the issue of climate change needed to be expressed in alternative media to those which have been used by writers to date.
He said: “Media houses, if not journalists, occasionally treat climate change as just another issue, when it is in fact a bigger topic, and need not be part of 50-50 journalism.
