Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday met with Prince Henry of Wales, familiarly known as Prince Harry, where he thanked the Prime Minister for taking the lead in the global fight against climate change as President of COP23.
Greeting the Prince, Mr Bainimarama said: “It’s the first time I am coming to London when it’s warm; in fact the last time we met it was snowing.”
During the meeting with Prince Henry, Mr Bainimarama spoke on the recent Tropical Cyclones, Josie and Keni, that struck Fiji this month and stressed the importance of a decisive global action in combatting the effects of climate change.
Mr Bainimarama is also scheduled to attend a dinner hosted by Queen Elizabeth II this week.
Fiji is among 52 other member-countries taking part in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) around the theme of “Towards a Common Future”.
