THE increase in the frequency and intensity of high impact weather events on our small islands because of climate variability and climate change is a concern, says Tongan Crown Prince Tupouto'a Ulukalala.
While opening the first regional ministerial meeting on meteorology, Tonga's Crown Prince Tupouto'a said cyclones, drought, landslides, floods and storm surges posed critical threats to the safety and security — water and food security — of Pacific Island states.
