FIJI joined billions of people around the world in marking World Biodiversity Day yesterday in Colo-i-Suva.
The celebration, which was hosted by the Department of Environment, also marked the launch of the department's National Environment Celebrations campaign.
Speaking at the special double occasion was Environment Minister Colonel Samuela Saumatua who said it was important to address problems which pertained to Fiji's threatened biodiversity. "Today's launch coincides with World Biodiversity Day, a day set aside to reflect and address problems of biodiversity with special consideration for water security and biodiversity loss," the minister said.
