THE Fiji Meteorological Services will be part of the AusAID-funded Climate and Oceans Support Program in the Pacific that aims to provide better weather forecasts.
Principal scientific officer climate Ravind Kumar said one of the positive impacts of the project was that it addressed climate change and sea level rise in the Pacific.
"The importance of that is because we in the Pacific are the most affected by these changes and we need to know more about the ocean and the changes that it goes through due to climate variability," Mr Kumar said.
