400 families in the Nanuku and Veidogo informal settlements in Vatuwaqa now have access to reliable and affordable electricity.
This was made possible by the New Zealand Aid Programme which provided funding of $FJD700,000 through the Climate Change Division for the purchase and distribution of solar powered home electrification kits.
Bharti Reddy who has been living in Nanuku settlement for the last 24 years says they had faced a lot of difficulties without electricity.
