Concerns over STT, environment levy

THE Service Turnover Tax (STT) and environment levy continued to be debated in Parliament yesterday after they were introduced last year.

And many hoteliers, nightclubs and eateries have raised their concerns on the implications of these two taxes on their businesses.

At the 2016/2017 budget debate, Opposition spokesperson for Finance and the National Federation Party leader Professor Biman Prasad said the increase in STT and the so-called environmental levy will make Fiji a costly destination for tourists.
