Climate Change Threatens Food Security: Kolitagane

The agricultural sector’s con­tribution to the Gross Do­mestic Product dropped to just 8 per cent and food imports increased by $100 million after Tropical Cyclone Winston hit Fiji on February 20, 2016.

Ministry of Agriculture Perma­nent Secretary David Kolitagane said climate change threatened countries’ ability to ensure food security, eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development.
