The agricultural sector’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product dropped to just 8 per cent and food imports increased by $100 million after Tropical Cyclone Winston hit Fiji on February 20, 2016.
Ministry of Agriculture Permanent Secretary David Kolitagane said climate change threatened countries’ ability to ensure food security, eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development.
