International scientists believe that climate change is not all bad for the Pacific islands: it will bring them both big opportunities and threats, specifically the potential for responsibly managed tuna stocks to rebuild, thereby strengthening food security and the economy for several countries. On the down side, their coral reef fisheries are expected to suffer.
The study by a team of marine scientists from Australia, France, New Caledonia and Fiji was published in the journal Nature Climate Change.
