Bonriki Inundation Vulnerability Assessment - Inundation Modelling of Bonriki Islet, Tarawa, Kiribati

A report providing an insight into the development of the inundation model as well as the analysis of the outcome of the probabilistic inundation hazard assessment of Bonriki activities undertaken in Kiribati, Tarawa Atoll, Bonriki as part of the coastal component of the Bonriki Inundation Vulnerability (BIVA) project conducted from 2013 to 2015. It includes Inundation modelling scenarios (XBeach) and the analysis of the outcome of the probabilistic inundation hazard assessment.

The Bonriki Inundation Vulnerability Assessment (BIVA) project aimed to improve understanding of the vulnerability of the Bonriki freshwater reserve to coastal hazards and climate variability and change. Improved knowledge of risks to this freshwater resource will enable better adaptation planning by the Government of Kiribati. This BIVA project was supported by the Pacific-Australia Climate Change Science Adaptation Planning (PACCSAP) programme.
