Description

The visual guide has 16 colourful illustrated pictures showing the water cycle, Pacific and global climate, causes of climate change, the changing climate of Tonga, the effects of weather extremes and mitigation and adaptation in a town and in gardening, forestry and fishing. The visual guide provides an engaging and tangible way for students and community members to explore climate change in a local context and for community facilitators and teachers to deliver nationally prioritised key messages on climate change to learners. The visual guide is targeting primary and secondary school students, but the posters are designed in a way that any audience can relate to them.

Picture 8 on changing climate is specific to Tonga. All other pictures can be used in any Pacific island country.

The teacher's guide Learning about climate change the Pacific way, A guide for Pacific teachers - Tonga that accompanies the visual guide can be downloaded via the SPC Learning about climate change the Pacific way website.
