Registration for Global Green Growth Week 2016 now open

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) will organize the Global Green Growth Week (GGGW2016), on September 5-9, on Jeju Island,Republic of Korea.
Register now and join global stakeholders in taking concrete steps to strengthen the transition to growth that is green, sustainable and inclusive!

GGGW2016 will serve to identify practical, innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and strengthen partnerships that deliver growth that is pro-poor, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable. GGGW2016 will highlight four thematic priorities of energy, water, land-use and green cities that are central to achieving strong, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth.
GGGW2016 will engage high-level officials from government, multi-lateral development banks and international development agencies, private-sector leaders, and representatives from academia and non-governmental organizations.

Participants will assess green growth policy, research, partnerships, financing, and technology through GGGW2016 policy dialogues, expert panels and presentations, discussions, capacity building workshops, country focused briefings, and technology exhibits. Events include:

The Global Green Growth Summit (GGGS) will address the challenges of developing bankable projects and drive discussion on innovative green finance. GGGS will address barriers to green growth investments in an effort to increase the flow of financing by examining international financing instruments and assess progress on national financing vehicles that catalyze green growth technology and infrastructure.
The Asian Regional Policy Dialogue will gather ministers to discuss implementable policy options that address the challenge of transitioning away from inexpensive coal in many countries, in favor of green growth powered by clean renewables. In pursuit of renewable energy initiatives, stakeholders will deliberate the rationale for scaling up renewables, and the barriers in developing and financing renewable energy programs.

The 4th Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) Annual Conference will highlight the latest research and policy considerations affecting pro-poor inclusive growth through plenary sessions, and panel discussions led by noted academics, practitioners and policymakers. The Annual Conference will strengthen the GGKP mission to deliver pro-poor, socially inclusive green growth through best policy practices and strategically aligned efforts by international organizations including GGKP partners, GGGI, OECD, UNEP, the World Bank, and other partners. GGKP partners will also convene the 3rd GGKP Knowledge Partners Workshop to discuss opportunities for cooperation in green growth knowledge generation and sharing.
The Green Growth Fair and Technology Exhibit will facilitate interaction between private and public sector representatives during the entirety of GGGW2016 to explore green growth opportunities and partnerships that leverage respective capacities, resources, and innovations. A stage for companies to showcase the latest in green technology, the Technology Exhibit will also include workshops designed to foster enhanced collaboration between the private and public sectors.

Country Focus Sessions will showcase more than 30 GGGI projects and investment opportunities from around the world by welcoming partner countries to highlight green growth milestones and the strategies and action plans that made them possible. The Sessions will provide GGGI¡¯s partner countries with a platform to enhance their green growth initiatives by networking amongst themselves and with international organizations, financial institutions, and technology providers.

The Inclusive Green Growth Partnership (IGGP) meeting to strengthen cooperation that leads to tangible progress in increasing green investment in developing countries. The meeting will gather the heads of the IGGP's founding members including the ADB, the AfDB, and the IDB together with the United Nations regional economic and social commissions from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific, and Western Asia.

The Launch of the GGGI-NCE Africa Initiative and the Regional Launch of NCE 2016 Report. Welcoming African ministers attending GGGW2016, the GGGI-New Climate Economy (NCE) Initiative will work to support African policymakers navigate the nexus between economic development and climate change.
The Ninth Session of the GGGI Council and Fifth Session of the GGGI Assembly will convene senior officials from GGGI member and observer countries to chart a course for the Institute moving forward over the next biennium.

Site visits organized by the Jeju Self-Governing Province to showcase the island's renewable energy and related green growth projects.
