Calls for more comprehensive climate change plan for Torres Strait

Rising seas around the Torres Strait Islands - between Australia and Papua New Guinea - mean that some of the region could become uninhabitable in a few decades.

The Torres Strait Regional Authority has prepared a climate change strategy to prepare for the possibility that some of the region's islands will be inundated by projected sea level rises of between 50 to 100 centimetres over the next century.
