THE outcome of Fiji’s Talanoa Dialogue is expected to boost the willpower of countries to keep the increase in global average temperature to well below 1.5 degrees Celsius as agreed in the Paris Agreement.

That’s the view of Fiji’s chief negotiator for COP23 Luke Daunivalu, as the second Climate Action Pacific Partnership Conference at Suva’s Grand Pacific Hotel came to an end yesterday.

Mr Daunivalu said the Talanoa Dialogue would capture political preparedness for climate negotiations at COP24 in Poland in December.

He said the current Talanoa Dialogue was about talking through issues and identifying the solutions for the climate change-vulnerable Pacific.
