Indigenous views must be included when it comes to creating climate change policies for the Pacific region. Community leaders and climate change experts from around the world say the need for western and indigenous perspectives to be united when it comes to tackling climate change in the region is crucial.
They raised these issues at a recent conference in Auckland. Indira Stewart has more.
