FORTY regional climate change activists who were part of the first Pacific Climate Warriors Retreat are committed to ensuring the rapid shift towards renewable energy.

Activist group 350.org pacific co-ordinator Koreti Tiumalu said Pacific communities were experiencing first-hand the damage inflicted by the fossil fuel industry.

"In May, the climate warriors will be part of thousands of people the world over pushing to break free from fossil fuels and accelerate the shift towards a just transition to 100 per cent renewable energy.
