The Solomon Islands planning meeting of the SPC/GIZ Regional Programme âClimate Protection through Forest Conservation in Pacific Island Countries was held at the King Solomons Hotel, Honiara, from 29 - 30 June 2011.
The report documents the following:
1. an overview of REDD+ initiatives in the Solomon Islands
2. stakeholder relationships in terms of REDD+
3. assessment of REDD+ needs and priorities for the country
4. potential REDD+ pilot sites and feasible Project activities as identified by participants
5. recommendations for the regional REDD+ information portal currently proposed under the project.
