Description

Two instruments for climate change mitigation are being discussed internationally: Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD+), and Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA). How can they be differentiated, and where lies the potential niche for each of these two mechanisms under which the UNFCCC conferences prepare opportunities for funding of on-the-ground implementation? This study compares the potential for both in Papua New Guinea, as part of a regional study conducted in Asia-Pacific by GIZ.
